THE LAST CHAPTER

Our last chapter in our life is our longest chapter in our life story because it lasts for all of eternity.  We tend to think of our last chapter being the chapter before we die but that is only in the event that there no afterlife which is rolling the dice on the design of our life.  At some point prior to our last chapter we make the decision who will be the hero of our story as their story and ultimately the last chapter.  You can choose to live a life where you are the hero of your story and slide into a final chapter that serves you as the hero and the consequences and limitations that come with that, or you can choose to pivot your current story to make Jesus the hero (Luke 24:25-27) and ride HIs coat tails into the final chapter as He has promised for eternal living (John 3:16).  That pivot (salvation) is the start of life being new (2 Corinthians 5:17) as part of the story written for and about Jesus (John 8:12 & Revelation 1:1).  Since Jesus is the author and the finisher of our story (faith) (Hebrews 12:2), rejecting Him as the hero for your story does not keep Him from writing the last chapter where being one’s own hero for their story has an outcome that is not so hero like (Revelation 20:11-15). Therefore choose wisely on who you accept as the hero of the story for your life and your last chapter (Romans 6:23).
