SUCCESS
The world is focused on defining success by goals achieved [READ Proverbs 16:1-33]. However that is a limited view and falls short of God’s design for each of us [READ Matthew 16:26-27]. An expanded view is defining success as living with values to achieve goals. What values you live by will determine the goals you set and how you achieve them [READ Psalm 1:1-2] and it will also determine the kind of success you have. I cannot think of a better place than God’s Word (the Bible) to determine your values and I cannot think of a better person (Jesus) to follow to determine to goals to pursue with those values [READ Proverbs 10:3 & 16:3]. A world view will limit your success to the goals you achieve and you will limit all that God has in store for you and what He created you for [READ Philippians 4:13]. Just goals achieved as a metric for success makes the goals a means to an end. It makes the goals a thing that is not valued or important in itself but is useful to obtain success. Bring values into the equation make the goals a means to pursue and achieve values as the metric of success [READ James 4:10 & Psalm 37:4]. A eternity perspective is a focus on values to determine goals and measure success [READ Romans 12:2].
