YOUR WORTH

The worth (of ourselves) in our flesh nature would be a  formula where our performance plus the opinion of others equals our self worth.  Such a formula is fertile ground for the work of Satan for accusation, deception, and lies [read John 8:44].  The worth (of ourselves) in our spiritual nature (who we are in Christ) would be a formula where Jesus’s performance plus God’s opinion of us equals our true worth [read Ephesians 2:4-9 & Titus 3:4-7]].  This formula is fertile ground for God’s mercy and grace to be active in your life for the best God has planned for you [read Jeremiah 29:11].

In our flesh, we build our self-worth based on the ever changing metrics of personal performance and the ever changing opinions of others for that performance with both being inconsistent, unstable and fickle.  However, our true worth is found in Jesus’s performance (what He did to, on, and through the cross for you) and God’s opinion (immutable, stable, and authoritative for all of time) [read Psalm 139:13-16].  His true worth of us gives stability, security, and purpose to all we do in life (work, live, and play) [read Romans 8:28].  To do our best in life based on the true worth we are in Christ Jesus.
