MENTAL HEALTH
There is a real practical purpose and reason to put God’s Word (Scripture) into (all of) your heart. It is so that His Word shows up in your thoughts, words and actions [read Isaiah 55:12]. Otherwise it will be self talk and mental chatter (self-centric thinking, negative thoughts, pride, anxiety, fears, etc) that will show up in your thoughts, words, and actions [read Proverbs 4:23]. Consuming God’s Word (reading and spending time with the Bible in an intentional and purposeful way) will feed your heart and will embed His Word in such a way that it will be integrated in what you think, do and say[read Psalm 1:2-3 & Joshua 1:8]. An integration that will manage your self-talk, mitigate your mental chatter, and guide you in how we look at your circumstance and how you respond to them [read 2 Timothy 3:16-17]. God’s Word is the best thing for our mental health [Romans 12:2].
