DRIVEN OR CALLING?

This world encourages us to be driven and rewards us for being driven.  However, there is a (big) difference in being driven and being called.  Driven is pursuing those things that the world has defined as metrics (money, status, and opinion by others) that are solely based on Man’s (this world) definition of success and accomplishment [read Romans 12:2].   My calling is based on what God has planned for me as my designed purpose(s) based on the abilities (time, talent, and treasure) that I have and will have [read 1 Corinthians 7:17 & 1 Peter 4:10-11].  Provision of abilities that started before my birth and provision that God continues to give when I stay in the calling God has designed for me [read Matthew 6:33-34].  Driven comes with anxiety, stress, and fears [read John 14:27].  Calling comes with peace, joy, and fulfillment.   Driven is me centered and calling is God centered.  I choose pursuing my calling [read Hebrews 12:1-2]!
