THE POWER OF WORSHIP
Worship is a lifestyle not an occasional activity. It is an attitude of the heart of losing self in the adoration of another [read Philippians 2:5-8]. It is so personal and intimate, that it should be reserved for God alone. It is designed to surrender every part of our lives to His control and to adore Him for who He is [read Colossians 1:10-12]. Worship is intertwined with surrender and where praise is intertwined with thanksgiving and appreciation. It is letting go of our self-worship and humbling ourselves to HIs greatness and adoring and loving Him for who He is [read Romans 12:1-2 & 1 Peter 5:6-9]]. When we authentically worship God we invite His Spirit to speak to us, convict us, and comfort us [1 Corinthians 6:18-20]. It is in this lifestyle (of worship) where are convicted by Holy Spirit to do course correction for realigning our priorities with God’s [read John 3:21-23]. It is in worship, where we put our heart on display for God to see and examine [read Psalm 139:23-24 & Job 22:21-22]]. It is in worship that we move close to Him and move into His presence [read Luke 9:23-24 & James 4:8-10]]. Not as episodic activity but as a congruous lifestyle to honor God for who He is [read 1 Chronicles 16:23-31]. To worship Him is a way of life and taps me into all that He is and all that I am, can be, and will be because of Him [read Matthew 6:33 & Romans 12:1]. The power of worshipping Him.
